Overview

The Romano Palace Luxury Hotel is strategically located on the Catania seafront, in a private park of approximately 25,000 square meters where water features and a large swimming pool contribute to creating an atmosphere of serenity.

An oasis of enchantment between the Baroque of the city and the sea, dominated by the magical grandeur of Etna.

104 luxurious treasure chests each with a different color and panorama, precious bathrooms set in mosaics and precious stones, all the most modern technology and multimedia supports combined with the utmost luxury for your 5-star stay!

From the comfortable, large terraces, breathtaking views of Etna combined with the inebriating scents of the sea and the Hotel's gardens, for a holiday that is an unmissable sensory experience.

Just five minutes from the airport and the historic center and three minutes from the tourist port and the main highways: staying at the Romano Palace means being able to enjoy all the attractions of the city and this corner of Sicily in complete freedom.

The style of the Hotel is the result of a long research of atmospheres between East and West, which have given life to a unique mix with an Arabian scent, where the great agora of the Hall triumphs in all its grandeur. One hundred and four rooms and suites, with different styles and the top of modern comfort.

The internal and external spaces are impressive and multifunctional, all designed for the comfort of the Guest and his privacy: the gardens and fountains, the lounge bar, the large swimming pool with its bar and solarium, the summer garden of the Tokai Garden restaurant, and also the roof with the panoramic room Papavero Blu and the gourmet restaurant Coriandolo, intimate and atmospheric. And also the Posidonia hall for banquets, gala dinners and convivial.

Lots of charm combined with the most modern technologies in the plenary hall that can accommodate up to 280 people, with an adjoining control room, the exhibition spaces and the eight break-out rooms, comfortable, modern, all darkened and modular.

    beautiful grounds
    lovely pool
    weak wi-fi
    limited power outlets

The hotel has beautiful grounds and a lovely pool area, offering a pleasant atmosphere. However, the Wi-Fi was weak, and limited power outlets were inconvenient. The nearby area felt a bit rundown and could use some attention, but overall, it was a relaxing experience.

    large swimming pool
    beautiful garden
    tired rooms
    basic breakfast

Potentially beautiful, but lacks proper care

I enjoyed the lovely large swimming pool and the beautiful garden areas, which offered a relaxing retreat. However, the hotel did not meet my expectations for a luxury experience. The rooms felt tired and may need better attention to cleanliness and upkeep. Additionally, the breakfast was quite basic and didn’t reflect the 5-star rating, as there were limited quality options available.

    spacious balcony
    pristine pool
    neglected area
    limited breakfast
    safety concerns

The spacious balcony in the superior room offered a lovely place to unwind, while the pool area was pristine and well-maintained. Unfortunately, the surrounding area felt neglected, with visible litter and some unwelcoming aspects that raised safety concerns after dark. Additionally, the breakfast options were limited, offering little variety, particularly for those with dietary restrictions.

    decent breakfast
    massive pool

    Couple getaway not quite luxury

The breakfast was decent,, they had a nice selection and the staff were friendly. We also enjoyed the massive pool area that was mostly empty, perfect for relaxation.

It wasn’t exactly affordable,, but we managed.

The lush, well-kept gardens felt like a peaceful paradise, perfect for leisurely strolls and enjoying nature. The lovely pool area was inviting, and the access to the beach was just a few feet away, adding extra charm to our stay.

    clean room
    cozy pool
    breakfast charge mix-up

We had a super enjoyable stay with really nice and clean rooms. Loved the cozy outdoor pool and relaxing solarium area. It was just perfect for lounging after a day of exploring. Only downside was the slight mix-up regarding breakfast charges, which got sorted out eventually, but make sure to double-check that! 😊

    garden area
    pool space
    terrace views
    air conditioning

The outdoor garden and pool area offer a nice escape, with well-kept greenery that’s perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Additionally, the rooms featuring terraces provide a great spot to unwind with a view, enhancing the experience of staying here.

Air conditioning struggled to keep up, leaving the room less comfortable than expected, especially in warmer weather. I also found the breakfast options lacking. the spread didn’t live up to the five-star label and felt pretty basic overall. Lastly, the restaurant prices caught me off guard, with one drink almost doubling due to a simple request for gin rather than vodka, which felt a bit sneaky and not communicated up front.

We enjoyed two nights in a lovely room with a terrace, and the staff was exceptionally friendly. Breakfast featured fresh pastries and regional specialties that we looked forward to each morning. Pro tip, be sure to enjoy dinner at the onsite restaurant for a taste of local flavors!

The breakfast view of Etna was almost as good as the fresh coffee served by the staff, and don't get me started on those sweet pastries! Plus, the lush pool area was a chill spot after a day of exploring Catania’s local gems nearby. You gotta hit up Parco Degli Aragonesi for some beach vibes.
